On January 20, 2026, at the V meeting of the National Kurultai, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced an ambitious plan that could reformat not only the digital landscape of the country, but also entire industries. We are talking about creating a Valley of data processing centers (DPCs) in Pavlodar region, based on the Ekibastuz energy basin. The project involves the construction of a powerful cluster of data centers powered by electricity generated from Ekibastuz coal. The government, together with the regional akimat, is already reserving a 200 — hectare plot of land for these purposes, as well as preparing infrastructure-from water supply and access roads to telecommunications networks and power lines. It is expected that this project will become the foundation for the formation of an international hub for cloud services and artificial intelligence in Central Asia.

In Bashkiria, the active development of digital infrastructure continues. The company Sintora has become a resident of the advanced development territory “Blagoveshchensk” and has begun building a data processing center with an investment of 180 million rubles. This is already the second data center in Blagoveshchensk, and its launch is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, with full capacity reached in 2027. For the region, this is an event of strategic importance: the stability of businesses, government services, and entire industries today directly depends on the reliability of information storage and processing. However, behind the seemingly “harmless” facade of server rooms lies a highly complex engineering system, in which industrial refrigeration equipment plays one of the key roles. It is this equipment that ensures the physical operability of the electronics, without which any data center turns into a pile of useless metal.

By 2030, the Don region is expected to have the largest modern logistics center in the south of Russia. The project, which is being implemented as a pilot project in collaboration with the Nizhny Novgorod region, has already received federal support. According to First Deputy Governor Alexey Gospodarev, the authorities are working with experts to analyze cargo flows in order to determine the optimal locations for the complexes. The goal is not just to increase the export of raw materials, but also to develop the deep processing of agricultural products and aquaculture, and create high-value-added goods. Modern logistics complexes offering a full range of services are already fully loaded, and they are being actively expanded.

The construction of a Russian-Indian pharmaceutical plant for the production of anti-cancer drugs in the Kaluga region, with an investment threshold of 3 billion rubles, is not only a significant event for the region's healthcare and economy, but also a powerful driver for related industrial sectors. In particular, the project will have a significant structural impact on companies specializing in the production and supply of industrial refrigeration equipment.

In 2029, the Dombay ski resort in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic will not only have a new hotel, but also become a point of attraction for discerning tourists. The construction company "Semya" will build a hotel complex under the management of the international operator Dusit International with the support of the Bank DOM.RF. This agreement, signed in Bangkok, sets new standards for service in the North Caucasus. However, behind the facade of luxury and the expectation of a high level of hospitality lies a complex engineering infrastructure, where industrial refrigeration equipment plays a critical role.

In Nizhny Novgorod, there is serious talk about the construction of a new indoor ice arena that will be adapted for bandy. This sport, which has a long tradition in the region, has long been in need of modern infrastructure. The arena is planned to serve as the home ground for the Start team, which currently has to train and play matches in conditions that are far from ideal. The idea was discussed in the regional Legislative Assembly: Vasily Sukhanov, Chairman of the Committee on Urban Development, met with Sergey Myaus, Director for Cooperation with Executive Authorities of the Russian Federation and International Sports Organizations of the Russian Bandy Federation. The lack of a modern facility for year-round training and competitions has long been a concern for Nizhny Novgorod athletes, and with the support of the federation and the regional government, this issue may be resolved.

In 2027, a new point of attraction will appear on the map of the Far East's logistics infrastructure: the Pyaterochka distribution center (DC) in Vladivostok. Announcing the project at the Eastern Economic Forum, the management of X5 Group emphasized the scale of their intentions: over the past 2.5 years, the company has consciously invested in the region, compensating for the exorbitant cost of logistics with affordable prices for customers. The opening of the center in Khabarovsk (November 20, 2026) was a trial balloon, and Vladivostok is taking over as a key hub for supplying 150 new stores that are expected to open in remote areas in 2026. Building such a facility is not just about concrete and shelving; it is a complex engineering system centered around industrial refrigeration systems.

The Kaluga Region is becoming a platform for the implementation of an ambitious agro-industrial project. The Rakwon Corporation from the DPRK intends to build a modern meat processing plant in the region. The plans were announced during a visit by a North Korean delegation led by General Director Kim Sen-ir. The goal is to strengthen interstate cooperation and launch an industrial production facility focused on meat processing.

Primorsky Krai is preparing for a large-scale upgrade of its fish processing infrastructure. According to the regional Ministry of Forestry, three new enterprises will be commissioned by 2029 as part of the "quota under the keel" program. Yuzhmorrybflot will build a large fish processing plant, while Veles-Sneck LLC will launch two small-scale plants. The total amount of private investment will exceed 2 billion rubles. For manufacturers and suppliers of industrial refrigeration equipment, this event means not just a one-time deal, but a sustainable growth vector for the next three years.

Copeland launches CO₂ compressor with DVI technology

In December 2025, Copeland—a global leader in compressor manufacturing—unveiled a new development: a CO₂ scroll compressor featuring Dynamic Vapor Injection (DVI) technology. This milestone marked a significant step in the evolution of industrial refrigeration equipment, as the combination of the natural refrigerant CO₂ and an advanced vapor injection system opens up new possibilities for enhancing energy efficiency, reducing operating costs, and meeting environmental regulations.
