The Governor of the Oryol Region, Andrey Klychkov, summed up the results of a working meeting with the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Degtyaryov, which took place in Moscow. The issues of developing the region's sports infrastructure and implementing the federal project "Sport is a Way of Life" were discussed. As a result, two large-scale projects were approved, which aim to elevate sports in the Oryol Region to a new level: the construction of an ice arena in the city of Livny and a sports and recreation center (FOK) in Mtsensk.

According to Andrey Klychkov, over the past five years, the number of Oryol residents who regularly engage in sports has increased by almost 95 thousand people. More than 56 thousand residents successfully passed the TRP standards. Effective implementation of the project "Sport is the norm of life" requires expanding the sports infrastructure, creating modern and affordable facilities for practicing various sports. That is why the approval of the construction of the ice arena and FOCA has become such an important event for the region.
The significance of the construction of such large-scale facilities cannot be overestimated. It is not only an opportunity for the development of sports and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, but also a powerful impetus for the development of the region's economy. The construction of the ice arena and the sports center will lead to the creation of new jobs, attract investment, and, importantly, have a significant impact on related industries, including the market for industrial refrigeration equipment.
An ice arena is a complex technological facility that requires a reliable and efficient refrigeration system. The quality of the ice, the maintenance of an optimal air temperature in the hall, and, as a result, the comfort of athletes and spectators all depend on this system. The construction of an ice arena in Livny will undoubtedly stimulate the development of companies specializing in the design, supply, and installation of industrial refrigeration equipment.
What types of refrigeration equipment are necessary for an ice arena to function?
Thus, the construction of an ice arena in Livny will lead to a significant demand for various refrigeration equipment, which in turn will create new opportunities for the development of companies operating in this field.

A sports and recreation center (SRC) is a multifunctional sports facility designed for various sports activities. A SRC may include swimming pools, gyms, playgrounds, group training rooms, and other facilities. Depending on the specialization of the SRC, different refrigeration equipment may be required.
The construction of the FOK in Mtsensk will also create new opportunities for companies involved in the supply and installation of refrigeration equipment, although to a lesser extent than the construction of the ice arena.
The construction of an ice arena in Livny and a sports center in Mtsensk are important steps in the development of sports infrastructure in the Oryol region. These projects will not only create conditions for sports activities and public health promotion, but also serve as a powerful incentive for the development of the region's economy, including companies specializing in industrial refrigeration equipment. It is expected that the implementation of these projects will lead to the creation of new jobs, attract investment, and improve the quality of life in the Oryol region.

In December 2025, Copeland—a global leader in compressor manufacturing—unveiled a new development: a CO₂ scroll compressor featuring Dynamic Vapor Injection (DVI) technology. This milestone marked a significant step in the evolution of industrial refrigeration equipment, as the combination of the natural refrigerant CO₂ and an advanced vapor injection system opens up new possibilities for enhancing energy efficiency, reducing operating costs, and meeting environmental regulations.
