The Verny supermarket chain, led by the ambitious Nikita Konyayev, has announced plans to build a modern meat processing complex in Malakhovka, near Moscow. This ambitious project, located on Mayakovsky Street, promises to be a significant event for the regional economy and the food industry. The announced capacity of 50 tons per shift highlights the company's serious intentions and confidence in the growing consumer demand for high-quality meat products.

The "Verny" project envisages the creation of a full production cycle. This means that all stages will be concentrated on one site: from the primary processing of raw materials (pork and beef) to the production of a wide range of chilled products. Consumers will find not only traditional meat products, but also modern developments, such as stuffings, grill products, and semi-finished products that meet the requirements of the most discerning customers. The implementation of such a large-scale project will require significant investments and the use of advanced technologies, which, in turn, opens up new opportunities for companies specializing in industrial refrigeration equipment.

The construction of a meat processing plant, such as the one planned by Verny, has a significant impact on the industrial refrigeration market. The need to maintain strict temperature conditions at all stages of production, from raw material storage to the transportation of finished products, makes refrigeration equipment a key element of the infrastructure. The increasing demand for refrigeration equipment drives innovation and the implementation of energy-efficient solutions, which has a positive impact on the entire industry. The emergence of a major player like Verny creates new opportunities for business expansion and long-term contracts for suppliers and service companies.

Industrial refrigeration equipment at a meat processing plant: the heart of the technological process

Meat processing production requires the use of a wide range of refrigeration equipment that ensures optimal temperatures at every stage. The quality and safety of the final product directly depend on the reliability and efficiency of this equipment. Here are just a few types of equipment that will be in demand at the new Verniy meat processing plant:

  • Shock freezing chambers: These units are designed for rapid freezing of meat raw materials and semi-finished products. The main feature of shock freezing is the preservation of the product's structure and taste. Typical characteristics include a temperature of -35°C to -40°C, a freezing time of 2-4 hours, and a capacity that depends on the chamber size and the type of product. These units are used for preparing raw materials for long-term storage and for the production of frozen semi-finished products.

  • Refrigerated storage chambers for raw materials: Designed for short-term and medium-term storage of meat. It is important to maintain a stable temperature and humidity to prevent the growth of bacteria and loss of quality. Features: temperature range from 0 to +4°C, automatic temperature and humidity control systems, and airtight doors. Used for storing chilled meat that is intended for immediate processing.

  • Finished product cooling chambers: Used for rapid cooling of meat products after heat treatment (e.g., boiling or smoking). Rapid cooling helps to stop the processes that lead to product spoilage. Features: temperature range from +2°C to +6°C, and intensive air circulation. These chambers are suitable for cooling cooked sausages, hot dogs, smoked meats, and other ready-to-eat meat products.

  • Refrigerated warehouses: Designed for storing large volumes of finished products before they are shipped to retail stores. It is important to maintain the correct temperature throughout the storage period. Features: temperature ranging from -18°C to -25°C (for frozen products), temperature and humidity monitoring systems, and automated warehouse management systems (WMS). Used for long-term storage of frozen meat products, minced meat, and meat.

  • Ice Generators: Required for the production of flake or granulated ice, which is used to cool minced meat during the production of sausages. Adding ice helps maintain a low temperature in the minced meat, preventing the growth of bacteria and preserving its consistency. Features: capacity ranging from several tons per day, automatic cleaning and disinfection systems. Used directly in the sausage production facility.

  • Centralized refrigeration systems: Provide refrigeration for all refrigeration chambers and meat processing equipment. Modern centralized refrigeration systems are highly energy-efficient and reliable. Features: use of environmentally friendly refrigerants (ammonia, CO2), automated control and monitoring systems.

  • Liquid coolers: Used to cool process water required for various processes, such as cooling equipment or producing ice. Features: High performance, compact size, and reliability.

This list is not exhaustive, but it gives an idea of how important the role of industrial refrigeration equipment is in a modern meat processing complex. The quality, safety, and competitiveness of Verny's products directly depend on the proper selection and operation of this equipment. Therefore, it is safe to say that the construction of a new meat processing plant will be a powerful impetus for the development of the industrial refrigeration market in the Moscow region and beyond.

Copeland launches CO₂ compressor with DVI technology

In December 2025, Copeland—a global leader in compressor manufacturing—unveiled a new development: a CO₂ scroll compressor featuring Dynamic Vapor Injection (DVI) technology. This milestone marked a significant step in the evolution of industrial refrigeration equipment, as the combination of the natural refrigerant CO₂ and an advanced vapor injection system opens up new possibilities for enhancing energy efficiency, reducing operating costs, and meeting environmental regulations.
