Features of сold-storage warehouses

Refrigerated warehouses are the area consisting of the understructure, framework, floors, divide walls and roof covering. They are distinguished from ordinary warehouses by increased requirements for tightness and thermal insulation. If it is planned to build a low-temperature warehouse, then the understructure will be drafty. In the case of medium temperature options, the understructure heat tracing will be mounted. The construction of such complex engineering systems requires a comprehensive solution.

At the design stage, certain features must be taken into account - the absence of metal elements inside the warehouse and the manufacture of an external supporting framework.

For the construction of warehouses, light metal structures are used, foamed polyurethane panels are mounted on them and connected by eccentric locks. Usually, European technologies are used to avoid the formation of thermal bypasses. Warehouses are equipped with state-of-the-art level compressor units.

Constructive solutions

Cold-storage warehouses are designed for storage of food and other goods in a temperature range from +5C to -45C. Their conditional capacity starts from 50 tons, height in some cases reaches 12 meters. It is also worth highlighting the following characteristics:

• Types of understructures - belt, pile-supported, columnar-lined, etc. Stack-mounted or monolithic options are carried out depending on the construction site.
• Framework is supplied and includes frames, columns, binding joists, a system of bracings and girth rails.
• Foamed polyurethane panels with thickness from 75 to 175 mm are used as divide walls.
• Reinforced floor is needed for electric heating or drafty underfloor space. The heating elements used for this purpose are very reliable and don’t lose their operating characteristics throughout the life of the warehouse.
• Doors can be swing or horizontal sliding with manual or automatic drive. Their insulation and sealing are required.
• Universal shipping places located on closed ramps or in ante-rooms are necessary. This is a whole complex of sectional and high-speed doorways, docking leveller, dock shelter, electric drive system, protection and automation. This is necessary to simplify the loading and unloading of vehicles.
